SALEM - Eugenia (Lipinska) Stankiewicz, 85, of Salem, wife of the late Joseph F. “A & P Joe” Stankiewicz, died Friday evening, February 18, 2011 at the Holy Family Healthcare at Our Lady of Angels Convent, Enfield, CT following a long illness.
Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Stanislawa (Kaminska) Lipinski. She immigrated to the United States in 1946 and has been a resident of Salem since that time.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years at Almy’s, and later at Rich’s Department Store, both in Salem.
Mrs. Stankiewicz was a communicant of the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem.
Mrs. Stankiewicz is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara M. and Peter P. Plecinoga of Salem, Sister Christine Marie, CSSF, (Felician Sisters) of Enfield, CT, four grandchildren, Peter P. Plecinoga, II, Paul L. Plecinoga, James M. Plecinoga, Christine M. Plecinoga, all of Salem, one sister, Alice Cote of Salem, several cousins, including Rev. Louis S. Bilicky of Framingham, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Mietek Ostrowski, Edmund Lipinski and Zygmunt Lipinski.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 4 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
