Obituary

Anthony E. "Tony" Lodi 83, of Natick died Saturday December 25, 2010 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home in Natick. He was the beloved husband of Janet P. “Dolly” (Franciose) Lodi with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

A resident of Natick for 60 years, he was born in Wellesley, the son of the late Egidio and Pia (Gozzi) Lodi.

Mr. Lodi was the owner of the A.E Lodi Painting Company of Natick for 60 years. He had reputation as a skilled and detail oriented craftsman dedicated to the finest work for his many appreciative customers. In addition to painting he was an expert furniture refinisher. He was very proud to be working with his son Carl who will continue the family business.

Mr. Lodi was active in youth sports in Natick for many years as a coach for the Natick Little League and Natick Comets programs. He worked tirelessly in helping to establish the West Suburban Skating Area in Natick.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed trips to Maine enjoying the summer vacations especially with his grandchildren.

Mr. Lodi was a member of the Italo American Club of Wellesley and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII aboard the USS Los Angeles.

Tony was known for his very quick and sharp sense of humor, which will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Richard A. “Dick” Lodi and his wife Pamela of Northborough, Carl F. Lodi and his wife Barbara of Natick, one brother Robert Lodi of Framingham, one sister Galba Lodi of Wellesley, 3 grandchildren Carissa Lodi of Westborough, Matthew Lodi and Michael Lodi both of Natick, and many devoted friends and nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Francis “Red” Lodi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00.

Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Internment St Patrick Cemetery.
