Millbury/Worcester - Francis X. "Scott" Masse, 68, of Millbury, formerly of Paine Street, Worcester, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010, in the Hermitage Nursing Home of Worcester following an illness.
He leaves his best friend and devoted wife of 44 years, Paulette E. (Young) Masse; a son Scott C. Masse of Millbury; and a daughter Monique A. Masse of East Brookfield. He was known as "Buddy" to his three grandchildren, Keith Masse of Sutton, Korryna and Scott Boulette, Jr. of East Brookfield. His youngest son, Jason Masse predeceased him in 1998. He also leaves a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Barbara Masse of Lowell and is predeceased by his brother Brian Masse. He fondly leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Lowell, MA, son of the late Dr. Reginald and Grace (Jordan) Masse. After graduating from Keith Academy in Lowell, he served in the United States Air Force. In 1965 he moved to Worcester and worked in management for several large retailers traveling the east coast. He considered his children and grandchildren his greatest hobby and loved them completely. His love, mild manner, warmth, sense of humor, and kindness will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 8, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, with Liturgy of the Word celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his son.
