Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Miss Mary Ann Ciulla, 85, formerly of Dale Avenue, died Tuesday evening, November 30, 2010 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Born in Gloucester on May 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Favalora) Ciulla. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1943.
Miss Ciulla was employed as a catalogue clerk at the Sawyer Free Library for over thirty years; a position she thoroughly loved.
She was a well-read cultured person with a wide variety of interests, including travel. She was also a talented artist and crafter, having enjoyed painting, quilting, rug braiding and stained glass art. Her sister, Julia, recalls her to be a perfectionist at whatever she attempted.
Her greatest joy in life came from her close-knit family. She loved and adored her nieces and nephews; sentiments which were reciprocated. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sister, Julia Guarrasi; sisters-in-law, Sally and Betty Ciulla; six beloved nieces and nephews, Carol Parisi, Rosemarie Guarrasi, Anthony, husband of Janet Guarrasi, Rose Provost, wife of the late Michael Provost, Anthony, husband of Mary Ciulla and Rosemary Ciulla; grandnieces and grandnephews, Nikki, Anthony and Peter Parisi, Joanna, wife of Mario Brancaleone and Christina Lewis, Michael, Josephine and Rosamaria Provost and Rachel Estevez. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and James Ciulla and niece, Josephine Verga.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
