Mrs. Emma Louise Cox, age 74, widow of the late Joe Daniel Cox, formally of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Rowan County on August 26, 1936 to the late Lonnie Bracey and Attie Lila Bowen Cottingham.Mrs. Cox was Owner and Operator of Joe’s Drive-In, a former Eastern Star and was of the Baptist faith.Mrs. Cox is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Bobby Joe (Sheila) Cox of Pinnacle, David (Faith-Marie) Cox of Westfield; two daughters and son-in-law, LuAnn Cox and boyfriend, Danny Martin of Conway, S.C., Cindy Cox (Ricky) Felts of Rural Hall; eight grandchildren, Rodney (Charity) Cox, Joey Snyder and girlfriend, Ann Parks, Danny (Krystal) Cox, Jackie Cox, Lauren (Craig) Williams, Karla Felts, Jonathan Cox and girlfriend, Karlee Naylor and Aaron Felts; five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Nathan Cox, Alyssa Cox, Joseph Cox and Carson and soon to be born her namesake Emily Williams; three step-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah and Israel; six step great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Cottingham (Alvin) Knoll of Wrenn, GA and Clara Cottingham Harwood of St. Lucie, Fla; several nieces and nephews; neighborhood friends and numerous adopted children and grandchildren.She was preceded in death by one sister, Zula Mae Haynes.Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2:00 P.M with Bro. Chester Wall and Sherri Comer Cox officiating with interment to follow at the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Bobby Joe Cox, 2363 Perch Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043.Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Cox family.
