Mr. Chris Joel Cawley
Augusta, GA – On October 29, 2010 Chris Joel Cawley passed away at 9:11am surrounded by family at University Hospital Heart and Vascular Center in Augusta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Interment to follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Chris faithfully worked 32 years at International Paper as well as 10 years at Columbia Nitrogen. He was also a local business owner of Cawley’s Kawasaki and Suzuki.
Chris was passionate about his collection of muscle cars, fishing, and his spending time with his loving family. He was a friend to many, a devoted husband to one, and the world’s best father to his three children. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Janet G. Cawley, his three children Kristy M. Wren age 35, Nicholas Cawley age 31, and Tiffiany Cawley age 24, his two grandchildren Brandon Faraj age 14 and Alex Faraj age 8. He also leaves behind two brothers Terry Cawley and Jerry Cawley, as well as his sister Shirley Odell.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Cawley, Johnny Wren, Billy Duncan, Terry Cawley, Jerry Cawley, and Daniel Brown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, October 30, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
