James S. Barry, of Abington, formerly of Medford, died Saturday evening at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 62.
James was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he joined his father and brothers in the operation of their business, Pier Fish on Boston’s waterfront. He eventually became a partner and was involved with his brothers in expanding the business. James was devoted to his family and friends
The beloved husband of Linda (Cefalo) Barry, he is the devoted son of Alice (Ahern) Barry and the late James H. Barry. He leaves his loving siblings: Jean Barry-Sutherland and her husband Thomas of Medford, Michael Barry and his wife Nancy of Acushnet, Maryellen Trane and her husband David of Wilmington, Marian Barry-Ravagni and her husband Hugh of Saugus, Kevin Barry and his wife Gloria of Wilmington, Richard Barry of Dartmouth, John Barry and his wife Luanne of Medford. He was a dear brother-in-law to Patricia Vienneau and her husband Gary of Salem NH, Gail Fornaciari and her husband Chris of Framingham and also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of James’s life will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, June 19th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
