Obituary

ANDOVER: Kenneth J. Stackhouse, age 87, of Andover, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Helen V. (Nazzaro) Stackhouse, who passed away on November 24, 1991.
Born in New York City, NY on August 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Howard and Loretta (Leonard) Stackhouse.
Ken was raised and educated in the Bronx area of New York City. After graduating from high school, he attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, where he received his degree in electrical engineering.
In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the Signal Corps.
Mr. Stackhouse resided in Tewksbury for 39 years until moving to Andover in 2006.
Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed as an electrical engineer by the Bell Labs Company in North Andover, where he worked for over 45 years.
He was a model train enthusiast and particularly favored the HO Scale trains. In addition, he enjoyed candlepin and ten pin bowling, gardening and watching the Boston Red Sox.
Mr. Stackhouse was an avid golfer and was a member of the Crystal Spring Golf Club in Haverhill.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Stackhouse, Jr. and his wife Diane of Andover; one daughter, Christine S. Dziengelewski and her husband Paul of Westfield; one granddaughter, Jaclyn E. Stackhouse of Andover; also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stackhouse was the brother of the late Ronald Stackhouse, Rita Peppard and Barbara Courtney, all formerly of New York.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, to be followed by a graveside service at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Home Base Program, Payable to Red Sox Foundation/ Run To Home Base, and mailed to: Run to Home Base/Red Sox Foundation, 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA 02215, Attn: G.
