WORCESTER-Anastasia (Tsiros) Gogos, 86, of Worcester, died Saturday, March 20th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Efthimios Gogos died in 2007. She leaves her son Stavros Gogos and his wife Anne Marie of Holden; her daughter, Andrea, wife of Christos Kakouros of Worcester; her sister, Areti Harisi of Ioannina, Greece; four grandchildren, Steven Gogos, Timothy Gogos and his wife Julie, Ekaterini Comitas and her husband Loucas, and Anastasia and her husband Arthur Maginas; three great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Three brothers and a sister predeceased her.
She was born in Drimades, Greece the daughter of Mattheos and Vasiliki (Koliou) Tsiros. Mrs. Gogos had worked fourteen years for Astra Pharmaceutical, retiring in 1985, and had worked as a seamstress for various local companies prior to her employment at Astra. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and its Seniors Group.
The funeral is Tuesday, March 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 11:00 am in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, March 22nd from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
