Barbara C. Phillips, 83, passed away at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody on February 12th, 2010. She was born in Chelsea on February 5th, 1927 to her parents Joseph and Louise (Yebba) Fiore. Barbara was raised and educated in Medford and is a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1945. She has been a resident of Malden since 1948. For many years, Barbara worked as an administrator at the Emery House Nursing Home on Grove Street in Medford. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden. After retirement, Barbara and her husband Arnold served as volunteers at the Immaculate Conception School in Malden, helping the teachers during lunchtime and at any other time they were needed. She was a member of the Malden Emblem Club, a former volunteer at the Malden Hospital and was also active in the Civil War Round Table Club. She is survived by her husband Arnold N. Phillips; by her children; Steven J. Simmons and his wife Judy of Malden, Louise M. Lisa and her husband Tony of Wilmington and Terri Bennett and her husband David of Hilton Head, South Carolina; by her sister Eleanor Chadwick of Malden; and by her grandchildren; Adam Lisa and Kate, Audrey and Oliver Bennett. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday February 16th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday February 15th from 4-8 PM.
