Obituary

Muriel J. (LeComte) Denault, 83, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Roger O. Denault.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Sylvio and Lena (Tetreault) LeComte, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. Muriel was educated at Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of St. Anthony School, class of 1947. She made many classmate friends and had kept in touch with them throughout the years.
When her family was young, Muriel was a stay-at-home Mom but later sought parttime employment. She started at the Head Start Program, then Zayre Department Store and Sacred Heart Home until she retired from the cafeteria at the then S.M.U. Afterwards, she volunteered as a Foster Grandparent at the Parker Steet School, which she enjoyed the most because she got to interact with the children.
She had many interests including animals, drama, dancing, traveling but especially she loved the children. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Hit and Miss League.
Muriel had a very big heart and would always be willing to help in any project that was asked of her. And she would always light the room up with her smile. She will be sadly missed.
Muriel was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart parish now known as The Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. She was a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She was presented the Marian Medal by the Diocese of Fall River for her many years of service to the parish.
She was a member of the Ladies Guild, A.C.A., Sacred Heart/Holy Name Seniors and the St. Anthony Seniors.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 59 years; 4 daughters, Denise, Suzanne and Louise Denault, all of New Bedford, Celeste Roy and her husband Louis of Fairhaven; 2 sons, Rev. Paul Denault, O. Carm., of Harrison, NJ and Marc Denault of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Claire Roy and Jeanne Pallatroni, both of Dartmouth, Annette LeComte of Holden, MA; 1 brother, Sylvio LeComte, Jr. of Dover, DE; 4 grandchildren, Lori, Monique, Alyssa and Aaron and several nieces and nephews.
