Obituary

Mr. Edward L. "Ward" Boddy, 87, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts.

He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on February 28th, 1922 to the late William and Martha (Kennedy) Boddy. Edward was educated in the local schools. He served during WWII for the United States Merchant Marines and was stationed on various ships including the Excelsior, during the Normandy invasion. Edward was a parishioner of Saint Monica's Church in Methuen, MA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, also in Methuen.

Edward worked with his brother Raymond at Boddy's Furniture Mart in Methuen, MA. He then opened and operated for 25 years, his own, Edward L. Boddy Furniture Appraisal/Restoration and Refinishing Company until his retirement.

Mr. Boddy was an Excellent Piano Player, he enjoyed working in his yard, on his beach cottage and loved his animals and pets. He cherished his time with his family, especially at the Beach.

Grandchildren: Jennifer, Paul, Patrick, Lori, Ted, Sarah, Colleen, Robin, Martha and Elizabeth

Great Grandchildren: Shea, Liam, Myles, Lydia, Morgan, Riley, Abigail and Cameron

Brother: Charles Boddy and his wife Mary Lou of Lawrence, MA.

As well as several nieces and nephews.

Brother of the late: Raymond, Leonard and William Boddy

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 24th, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Monica's Church in Methuen, MA.

Burial will follow at the Walnut Cemetery in Haverhill, MA.
