Obituary

Rudolph Paul “Rudy” Hujik, 77, of Summerville, husband of the late Mildred Schreiber Hujik, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1 o’clock until the hour of service. Burial will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11 o’clock .

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: United Veterans Beacon House, 805 South Township Blvd, Pittston, PA 18640.

Mr. Hujik was born October 29, 1932 in Manhattan, New York, son of the late Joseph Paul Hujik and Anna Umlauf Hujik. He attended schools in Manhattan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served as a boatswain mate who fought on the USS Hailey in the Korean War. He enjoyed exercising at the YMCA, reading and history. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Surviving are: 2 sons and 1 daughter: Paul Todd Hujik of Palm Bay, Florida, Richard Hujik of West Islip, New York and Anna Pedalino of Summerton, SC. 6 grandchildren: Nancy Hujik, David Hujik, Crystal Cunningham, Joseph Pedalino, Samantha Sforza and Maximus Hujik 1 great grandson: Austin Hujik. 1 sister: Carol Kish of Jersey City, New Jersey. He was predeceased by 1 sister: Rose Aubry and 1 brother: John Hujik.
