Geraldine "Tootsie" (Devlin) Doris, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Friday November 13, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. She was 61 years old.
Tootsie was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston. She later worked for 20 years for The Society of St.James The Apostle at St. Stephens Church in the North End section of Boston. She later worked in patient services at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Boca Raton Hospital in Florida.
Tootsie is the former wife of Dennis Doris. She is the devoted mother of Julie Doris of Saugus, Brendan Doris of Saugus and Dennis Doris and his dear friend Kerry Farnkoff of South Boston. She is the loving grandmother of Meghan Collins, Olivia and Miranda Doris. She is the beloved sister of Harold Devlin of Canton, Denis Devlin, Daniel Devlin, Paul Devlin, Sheila Jackson, Jacqueline Fabiano all of Charlestown and Diane Voye of Pembroke.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tootsie's Funeral on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours will be on Monday November 16, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m.
