John M. Perkins, Sr., 82, of 30 Pleasant Street died Thursday Nov. 5 in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill.
His wife Theresa M. (Grady) Perkins died in 1995. He leaves three sons John M. Perkins, Jr. of Worcester, James G. Perkins and his wife Nancy of Rochdale, David M. Perkins and his wife Emily of Rochdale, six grandchildren Danny, Jimmy, Tracy, Kelly, Chris & Amy, a great-grandson Jordan and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Perkins was born in Oxford son of John M. and Irene (Knight) Perkins. He was a forklift operator for many years at Central New England Warehouse in Worcester before retiring in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. He enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. He was an avid Boston sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and helping his sons do various projects.
The funeral will be Monday, Nov. 9 from MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday from 1:00-3:00 PM.
