Anthony V. Lukasiewicz, Sr. 89 years of Cumberland, RI died peacefully at his home September 29, 2009. He was the husband of the late Agnes J. “Janet” (Zaklukiewicz) Lukasiewicz. Born in Central Falls, RI he was a son of the late Augustyn and Emilia (Sutula) Lukasiewicz. He had been a resident of Cumberland for the past 55 years. Tony had been employed by the former Collyer Insulated Wire Company as a Production Manager for 37 years. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen Post #79 of Central Falls, St. Aidan’s Seniors of Cumberland and Cumberland Seniors. He was a Charter member of the former Collyer Wire Credit Union, Past President of the former St. Joseph’s Church Holy Name Society and a Past President and founder of the former St. Joseph’s Seniors.
He was the loving father of Mary Jane Lukasiewicz of Cumberland, RI, Gregory V. and his wife Nicole of Woonsocket, RI, Anthony V. Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Cumberland, RI and Steven J. and his wife Jane of Avon; beloved grandfather of six, great grandfather of six and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Augustyn “Gus” Lukasiewicz of Harwich and the late Stella Babiec, William, Francis and John Lukasiewicz.
Funeral from the Karol A. Romenski and Sons Funeral Home, 342 High Street, Central Falls, RI, Saturday at 8:30am. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church at 10am. Burial in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
