Jean E. “Bonnie” Byette, 84
of Merrimack, NH, formerly of Tewksbury, MA
passed away at home in the arms of her children on July 31, 2009 after a lengthy decline in health.
She was the wife and best friend of John F. “Bud” Byette who pre-deceased her in November of 1990 after 41 years of marriage.
She was the daughter of the late Verne S. & Helen C. (Nimmo) Bonnell and the sister of the late Robert “Bob” Bonnell.
She was born in Cambridge, MA on March 29, 1925 and raised in Belmont, MA having graduated from Belmont High she attended Babson School of Business.
She and her husband moved to Tewksbury in 1951 to raise their family and co-founded the John F. Byette Insurance Agency in 1965.
She enjoyed the social life and travel that was involved with the agency and with the Tewksbury Lions Club in which Bud was a member. She loved her faith, the beach, music, dancing, laughter and her summer residence in Wells, ME.
She will be remembered most for her heart of gold, her love of life and people. Her positive attitude and for being young at heart. For her generosity, whether it be volunteering at the voting polls, cooking casseroles for the church suppers, or helping a friend in need. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out and will be forever loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her three loving children, John F. “Jack” Byette, Jr. and his wife, Janet of Dracut, MA. Nancy E Kelly of Merrimack, NH with whom she resided and Carol A. Nikin and her husband, Joe of Salem, NH
Four grandchildren, Jacy Amenkowicz, and her husband Mark of Milford, NH. John J. “JJ” Kelly, Jr. of Nashua, NH., Keith and Katie Byette of Dracut, MA
Two great-grandchildren, Elias and Abigail Amenkowicz.
She was also the mother in law of the late Jack Kelly with whom she shared a special bond.
Her Funeral Service was held Thursday, August 6, in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Lowell. Burial followed in Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you count your own blessings, tell a friend or family member that you love them, make a donation to your favorite charity or perform a random act of kindness in her memory.
