METHUEN – Annie E. (Ripley) Bateman 87 of Lowell and formerly of Methuen died peacefully Saturday July 11, 2009 at the D’Youville Senior Center in Lowell.
Born and educated in Methuen, daughter of John and Annie (Vickers) Ripley, she attended Methuen Schools and was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School. She was a nurse for Dr. Julien Burgial who was the Medical Examiner for the City of Lawrence and for many years was an inspector at Raytheon in Andover before her retirement. She loved crafts, needle point, painting and ceramics.
The widow of William Bateman, she is survived by her son William McFarland- Bateman and his wife Renata of Atkinson, NH.
Daughter-in-law Kathleen P. Bateman of Dracut, MA.
6 grandchildren Jennifer Bateman and husband Luis Ferreiros, Erik Bateman and Fiancee` Angela Beltz, Jamie Laflamme and husband Gregory, Krissy Olson and husband Peter, Brittany Rae McFarland – Bateman and Jon McFarland – Bateman.
2 great-grandchildren Liam and Patrick Olson.
Several nieces and nephews.
Annie was predeceased by her son James A. Bateman who passed away in 2006.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:00a.m. – 10:30a.m. Funeral service will follow at 10:30a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
