Timothy P. “Pat” Donahue, 84, passed away at home in Medford on June 25th, 2009. He was born in Skibbreen, County Cork, Ireland on January 24th, 1925 to his parents Timothy and Johanna (McCarthy) Donahue. Pat was raised and educated in Ireland. Upon arrival in America, he came to live in Cambridge before moving to Medford in 1957. For over 50 years, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Doble Engineering Company. He also held a license as a Master Pipe Fitter. In 1994, Pat was elected “Man of the Year” by the Knights and Ladies of St. Finbarr, an association he was dedicated to for many years. He was also a member of the St. Brendan Society and the Irish American Association in Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen P. (Galvin) Donahue; by his children, Timothy J. Donahue and his wife Darcy of Moody Beach, Maine, John F. Donahue of Medford and Daniel P. Donahue of Medford; by his grandsons Timothy D. and Kyle E. Donahue; by his great grandsons Timothy A. and Gabriel M. Donahue; and by his sisters, Mary Merrigan of Allston, Elizabeth McCarthy of Marshfield and Ann Monaghan of Milton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Pat was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Helena Donahue. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Monday June 29th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday June 28th from 4-8 PM.
