Of Canton, died Friday evening, June 5, 2009 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Norwood. She was 88.
Born on August 11, 1920 in Canton, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Helen (Eustis) Hare, she was raised and educated in Sharon. Mrs. Bright has been a Canton resident for over 60 years and a seasonal resident of Osterville for over 25 years.
Mrs. Bright had been employed for many years as the Executive Secretary to the President of Fisher College in Boston.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Canton and had been involved with various civic, charitable and community endeavors throughout her life.
A member of the Women’s Club of Canton, she was a talented seamstress and wonderful cook who enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband and had travel the
World over.
Mrs. Bright is survived by her husband of 66 years, John A. Bright, her daughter, Carol Bright of Canton, her granddaughters, Camille Bright and her husband, Dr. Alex Nagle of NY and Catherine Bright of Boston, her grandson, Christopher Bright of Plainville, her brothers, Donald E. Hare of CT and Robert Randall “Randy” Hare of Framingham and her daughters in law, Charlene Bright of Plainville and Maria D. Roque of Taunton. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons, Eric Bright and John Russell “Russ” Bright and her sister Virginia White.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the Roache – Pushard Family Home for Funerals, 210 Sherman Street. A private inurnment will be held at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton at a later date.
