Wilma Lee Beard Crosby, 81, Clarksville, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. David Forney officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born October 1, 1927 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, daughter of the late Robert Beard and Bessie Kemp Beard. She was retired manager of Stuarts Ladies Shop. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Jim Crosby; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Crosby and Ronn Crosby all of Clarksville; two sisters, Bertha Taylor, Memphis; and Mary Baguley, Biloxi, MS; three grandchildren, Stewart and Justin Crosby, Woodlawn, TN; and Jennifer Pleszkoch, Baltimore, MD; and five great-grandchildren. Family requests that memorials be made to the Friendship Class or the Brotherhood Class of First Presbyterian Church, 213 Main Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
