TEWKSBURY: Phyllis V. (Lamport) Cannon, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Wingate of Lowell.
She was the wife of William F. Cannon, Jr., who died in 1999.
Born in Boston on May 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Sarah (Halfrey) Lamport.
Phyllis was raised in Brighton and resided in Stoneham until moving to Tewksbury in 1959.
Phyllis enjoyed cooking and was a former member of the Tewksbury Garden Club.
She is survived by two brothers, Charles Lamport of Londonderry, NH and Robert Lamport of Waltham; many nieces and nephews including Douglas Lamport and his fiancé Joanne Cole of Tewksbury, with whom Phyllis resided for several years; her dear friends, John and Jane Juszkiewicz of Tewksbury.
Phyllis was the sister of the late Edwin Lamport, Jr., Leonard and Phillip Lamport.
Calling hours Monday, March 16th, from 9-10 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by her funeral service to be held at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Waltham, MA 02451are suggested.
