Ludowici- John “Terry” Gordon, age 59, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Liberty County living most of his life in Long County. Terry served as Chief Registrar of Long County, Chairman of the Long County Industrial Authority, and a member and former Director of The Long County Chamber of Commerce. He was affiliated with local funeral homes, a member and Minister of Music at the Ludowici Church of God and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Prince and Ruby Mae Gordon; first wife Susan Floyd Gordon, brother; James A. Gordon, and a grandson Mason Gordon.
Surviving is his wife: Colette Beecher Gordon of Ludowici; one daughter: Tara and husband Jason Allen; two sons: Justin and wife Tori Gordon and Brandon Gordon all of Ludowici; three sisters: Betty Lupo of Lodowici, Bonnie Tompkins of Hinesville and Sylvia Peden of Ludowici; one brother: Paul Gordon of Ridgeland South Carolina; four grandchildren: Gavin, McKinleigh and Cooper Allen and Jake Gordon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Ludowici Church of God with Reverend Irvin Poole, Reverend Tom Gardener, and Reverend David Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 until 9 pm at the Ludowici Church of God.
Active Pallbearers will be Charlie Smith, Jason Tompkins, Bill Floyd, Brian Floyd, Justin Long, and Joe Foster.
