Obituary

Shrewsbury—Raymond Daniel Ball, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Raymond is survived by his sister, Virginia L. Ball; brother, Merritt L. Ball; son, Raymond D. Ball Jr.; daughter, Alyce C. Roberts; granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Roberts; and great-grandson, Frankie N. Roberts. Raymond lost his wife, Annette Eleanor (Saucier) Ball, of almost 60 years earlier this year. He was a faithful husband and father. There are many other friends and loved ones left to cherish his memory.

Raymond was born in Worcester, son of Christine (Ross) and Ernest Ball. He was the loving brother of Harvey R. Ball, Ernest G. Ball, and Jessie A. (Ball) Gowans, who are deceased. Raymond was a religious man who devoted much of his time to bringing others closer to God. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 40 years. Ray was a hard worker. His first job was at the age of 14 at Meehan’s Diner. Later, he worked for Wright-Line, Inc. for many years. Raymond was the successful owner of Shrewsbury Auto World for 13 years prior to retiring a few years ago.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27th at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, 659 Franklin St., Worcester. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Kingdom Hall.
