Lee E. Peterson, of Malden, formerly of Montana, passed away on December 4, 2008. He was 45 years old.
Born in Red Lodge, MT, Lee graduated from Bridger High School in 1981 and went on to Montana State University where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. Lee moved to Boston after college to pursue his career in the biotech industry. His career began with a position at BioPure, and most recently, he worked for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Andover. He also earned a microbiology and biochemistry degree from the University of Washington in 2003.
Lee loved to travel. He had taken numerous trips across country, and also traveled overseas to England and Scotland. His favorite travel destination was someplace new, as he was always eager to sightsee. He felt that the best way to sight see was to do it by foot, to really get a feel for your surroundings. Lee also loved the surroundings of his garden. He enjoyed landscaping and filling his garden with numerous tulips, irises, roses and herbs.
He enjoyed reading a good book and listening to classical music, but was most comfortable spending time with family and friends. He loved to laugh and engage in intellectual conversations. He did not enjoy being the center of attention. Instead, he would rather sit back, and enjoy everyone.
Lee was the loving son of Leo and Beulah (Brown) Peterson of Red Lodge, MT. Dear brother of Linda Rand of Three Forks, MT, Dianne Peterson-Tuell of Billings, MT, Lowell and his wife Lou Ann Peterson of of Belfry, MT, Lyle and his wife Karla Peterson of Hathaway MT, and Brenda and her husband Steve Carlson of Dedham, MA. Lee was the cherished uncle of Dixie Armstrong, Tracy Morris, Michelle Noack, Ben Rand, Trish Tuell, Sonya Oyler, Justin Peterson, Grant Peterson, Jess Peterson, Clint Peterson, Jerrilynn Peterson, Landon Carlson, Lindsay Carlson, and Luke Carlson.
