Obituary

John L. Misiaszek, 74, of Prospect St., Manville, died Thursday at The Friendly Home in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Dolores A. (Ducharme) Misiaszek to whom he was married on June 8, 1957.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Stanislaus and Mary (Dykas) Misiaszek. He was raised in Central Falls and resided in Manville for over 50 years.
Mr. Misiaszek served in the U.S Navy, during the Korean War, from June 1951 until May 1955.
He worked for Consolidated Auto Screen in Woonsocket for many years until he retired in 1997.
Mr. Misiaszek was a longtime communicant of St. James Church, and a member of the American Legion Post 9 in Manville for 42 years.
John was very proud of his service to his country, and enjoyed golfing, gardening and playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary J. Misiaszek, and his wife Mary, of Smithfield, Alan P. Misiaszek, and his wife Janet, of AZ, a daughter, Lisa M. Iannuzzi, of Manville. He was the brother of Stanley Misiaszek, of FL., Mary Ann Marchetti, of Charlestown, RI, and the late Joseph Misiaszek who died in Vietnam. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:30 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA. 01701. Arrangements are by the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville.
