Obituary

Worcester – Eugenie M. (Metivier) Marchand, 95, of Worcester died on Monday, June 30th in Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.

Eugenie is predeceased by her husband Roger R. Marchand who died in 1973 and a son Robert N. Marchand Sr. who died in 2001. She is survived by two sons Roger E. Marchand Sr. and his wife Florence of Worcester and Paul T. Marchand and his wife Joan of Sturbridge; two daughters Pauline G. Mulligan and her husband George of Alexandria, VA and Claire M. Revelli and her husband James of Sutton; a daughter in law Carol A. Marchand of Worcester; a sister Genevieve Bostrom of Webster; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Marchand was born in Willow City, North Dakota daughter of the late Alfred and Eugenie (Perron) Metivier and has lived in Worcester for over 70 years.

She worked at the former MART on Main St. in Worcester for over 20 years as a cashier retiring in 1981. Eugenie was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Church for over 70 years. She was a member of the Golden Age Club, the Busy Bees, the 120 Club, the Ladies of St. Anne and was also a volunteer for the Friends of Shut-Ins Program all at Holy Name of Jesus Church.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3rd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 931 Main Street. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
