Frank J. Pedulla, a longtime resident of Woburn, died June 15 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by his family. After many months of a courageous battle, Mr. Pedulla died of pulmonary fibrosis and pancreatic cancer. He was 78.
Mr. Pedulla was born and raised in Somerville where he graduated from Somerville High School. After serving in the United States Army and the active reserves for five years, he began a sales career with Luggage Distributors in Boston. He joined the General Electric Company in 1967 where he spent the next 24 years in various sales positions of increasing responsibility, including National Accounts Manager. He retired from General Electric in 1991.
In 1956, he married Loraine McCaffrey and settled in Medford before moving to Woburn in 1965. For the next 43 years, he and Loraine raised their three children through the Woburn Public School system and were active in St. Barbara’s Church.
In his retirement, Mr. Pedulla was involved in the Woburn Senior Center, where he drove the Center’s first elder van. He also served for four years as a trustee for the Quail Run Condominium Association, a community which he and his wife dearly enjoyed. He took great pride in his family, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Dr. James F. Pedulla, his wife Mary Jo, and their children Amy and Lauren, all of Winchester; a daughter, Denise E. Pedulla of Boston; a daughter Christine M. Laska, her husband Philip, and their children Kevin and Kerry, all of Billerica; a sister, Marie Woznik and her husband Theodore of Woburn; a brother Peter S. Pedulla and his wife Marianne of Chelmsford; a brother, Thomas V. Pedulla and his wife Patricia of Framingham; and several dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral will be from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant Street, Woburn, on Thursday, June 19th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church , 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 18th from 4-8 P.M.
