Daniel F. Langan, of Newton Highlands a lifelong Newton resident died on Fri June 13, 2008 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. He was 73.
Danny graduated from the Hyde Elementary School, Weeks Jr. High and was a graduate of Newton High School in 1954. He served with the 10th Mountain Div. of the U.S. Army. He was the founder and operator of Daniel F. Langan & Sons, a carpentry, roofing and painting company. Danny loved spending time with his family, and the beach in Manomet. He was also an avid antique car buff.
Beloved husband of Mary Ellen (Cassidy) Langan, he was the father of Michael Langan and his late wife Catherine of Natick, John Langan and his wife Sara of Wayland, Daniel Langan and his wife Carolyn of Natick, Patrick Langan and his wife Kathleen of Newton, Kathleen and her husband Matthew Anderson of Newton and Brian Langan of Newton. He was the brother of Mary Langan of Scituate, Peter Langan and his wife Agnes of Natick, Anne and her husband John Herring of Natick, Priscilla and her husband Tom McCoy of Manomet, Evelyn and her husband William Coughlin of Natick and the late John Langan. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tues June 17 at 10:30 AM in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Eliot St. Newton Upper Falls. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Holyhood Cemetery Brookline.
Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Mon from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
