Mrs. June N. (Smith) Marsden
June N.(Smith) Marsden, a life long resident of Taunton, passed away at Longmeadow Nursing Home of Taunton on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She was 89 years of age.
June was the daughter of the late Francis and Annie (Melville) Smith; and wife of the late Raymond H. Marsden. She graduated from Taunton High School in 1934. She was employed at the Taunton Dog Track as a concession worker for 40 years, and also worked at the Paul Dever School. In her spare time, June enjoyed reading and vacationing in Florida.
She leaveas 2 sons; Raymond H. Marsden Jr. and his wife Gail of Taunton, and John Marsden and his wife Susan of Dighton. June was the beloved sister of 1 brother; Francis Smith of Taunton and 1 sister; Audrey Brady of New Hampshire; also of the late Robert Smith. She leaves 3 grandchildren; Dr. Jeffery J. Marsden and his wife Joan of Norfolk, Timothy Marsden and his wife Violetta of Dighton, and Amy Marsden of Rochester; she also leaves 5 great-grandchildren; Thomas and Julia, both of Norfolk, Eric, Christopher and Sean of Dighton.
Private funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2008 at the Taunton Funeral Home. At her request visiting hours are omitted. Burial at St. Francis Cemetery.
