Obituary

Denzil Chapman, 77, Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Dr. Larry Robertson and Rev. Terry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born September 21, 1930 in Fairmont, West Virginia son of the late Oakie Chapman and Elenora Williams Chapman.Mr. Chapman retired from General Motors where he worked as a press operator. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Hilldale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rose Hileman Chapman, a son Danny Ray Chapman (Virginia), Clarksville; a daughter, Donna Sue Bierman (Jeffery), LaGrange, OH; a brother, Kenneth Chapman, Hawaii; six grandchildren, Daniel, David, Nichole and Alexis Chapman and Joshua and Elisha Bierman; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Madison Chapman. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384.
