Christopher J. “Mitch” Mitchell, 35, of Cortland Lane, Smithfield, a mechanic at Cerroni’s Service Station in Smithfield died Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born in Providence, a son of William B. Mitchell, PPD, retired of Cranston and Mary E. (Noble) Mitchell of Smithfield. He was a lifelong resident of Smithfield. Mr. Mitchell was a golfer and played pool and belonged to several pool and golf leagues. He was an avid race fan and motorcyclist.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Lillian Elise Mitchell and her mother, Dawn C. Leipf, both of Burlington, NC; two sisters, Charlotte A. Jarest of North Providence and Cheryl A. Barden-Gauvin of Glocester; a brother, William B. Mitchell, Jr. of North Scituate; an uncle, William Noble, and four nephews and three nieces.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to his daughter’s college fund, c/o Citizens Bank, 639 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828.
