Mary Gertrude (Daly) Cahill of Wellesley Hills passed away April 29, 2008 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 64. She was the beloved wife William F. Cahill Jr. for 39 years.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late L. Sheldon and Gertrude A. (Foley) Daly. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Regis College, Class of 1965. She was a former elementary school teacher in the Waltham Public Schools and was a Teacher’s Aide at Mulberry Pre School & Childcare in Wellesley, St. John the Evangelist Grade School in Wellesley and the Weston Windows. She was also very active in the Pro Life Movement and sang in the Choir at St. John the Evangelist Church.
She was the mother of William D. Cahill, M.D. of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer A. Cahill of Wellesley, Sarah C. Cahill and her family of Mystic, CT and James M. Cahill of Needham. Sister of L. Sheldon Daly and his wife Nancy of Hingham, Timothy |B. Daly and his wife Gael of North Scituate, Robert F. Daly of Wellesley, William P. Daly and his wife Mary Lu of Acushnet, and David J. Daly and his wife Denise of Wellesley. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
