Chelsea Ann Ponte, 15, of Westport died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Dresden, Maine. She was the beloved daughter of Wendy Ann (Orr) Ponte of Westport and Dan R. Ponte of Westport.
Born in Fall River she lived in Westport all her life where she was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church. Chelsea was a freshman at Westport high school where she was a member of the drama and art clubs. She was an animal lover and enjoyed riding her bicycle. Chelsea would challenge herself everyday to reach her personal goals and competed in the Special Olympics where she received numerous medals for her achievements. Chelsea was loved by everyone she met through her thoughtfulness, generosity and love.
In addition to her parents she is survived by 2 sisters: Danielle Desmarais and Erica Ponte of Westport; grandparents: Nancy Ponte, Armand Malenfant and Frank Orr all of Westport; stepfather: Scott Lajoie of Westport and step-mother: JoAnn Bolandrina of Freetown; 1 nephew: Devin Morse; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was the granddaughter of the late Kathleen M. Malenfant and George Ponte.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Friday, April 25, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 P.M.
