Obituary

Maurice William Godbout, 89, of Manchester, NH, died April 5, 2008 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester, NH, on June 29, 1918, the son of Wilfred and Dorilda (Dorais) Godbout. He was educated in the local school system.
During WWII, he served in the US Army. He was stationed for 39 months in the European Theater, serving in the Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion in both France and Belgium.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a spray painter for Chrysler Plymouth. He had also held employment with Duclos Auto, Hewitt Auto Parts, and Cavanaugh Garage for many years.
In his retirement, Maurice enjoyed crafting birdhouses and windmills.
He had been a longtime communicant of the former St. Edmond Parish.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose A. (Gelinas) Godbout in 2004.
Members of his family include one son, Robert M. Godbout of King Ferry, NY; three daughters, Mrs. W. Michael (Cecile) Corson of Northwood, Denise Godbout of Bethlehem, PA, and Mrs. William (Lorraine) Watkins of Dunbarton; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger and Stevens Godbout, both of Manchester; one sister, Irene Quinn of Manchester; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St, on Wednesday April 9, 2008. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
