Obituary

SALEM - Charles F. Holland, 86, husband of Marjorie E. (McCulloch) Holland of Salem, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, February 20, 2008, with his family by his side.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late James and Minnie (Hill) Holland.

An Army veteran of WWII, he served in Burma, China and India with the 3841st Quartermaster Truck Company and attained the rank of Tech Sergeant.

Mr. Holland was President of the Suburban Oil Company which he established in 1952 and operated until his retirement in 1995.

A resident of Salem since 1963, he enjoyed spending summers with family and friends on Lovell Lake in Sanbornville, New Hampshire. He was a past member and trustee of the Loyal Order of Moose, #218 in Salem.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Peter & Dale Holland of Boxford, one daughter & son-in-law, Beth & Walter Kulas, Jr. of Georgetown, 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Kulas of Georgetown, Spencer Holland & Sydney Holland both of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Warner, William & Robert Holland, Ferne Clark and Eileen Codair.

His funeral service will be held Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Sunday, 3 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. A spring burial will be held at Lovell Lake Cemetery, Sanbornville, NH.
