Obituary

BOSTON-Jonathan L. Pride, 55, passed away in Boston.

He leaves three aunts, Irene Berg of Worcester, Helmi Lehtola of Auburn and Teri Patriquin of Dennis Port and many cousins and friends. He also leaves his companion cat, Tommy Tuesday. His brother, Thomas Pride predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Leroy L. and Tyyne Lillian (Tarkiainen) Pride and moved to Millbury where he graduated from Millbury High School. He went on to receive his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Worcester State College. Jonathan taught in the Millbury Public Schools for many years. He most recently lived in Boston and worked as a concierge for several hotels and earned “Concierge of the Year” Awards. Jonathan also founded a children’s story program at the Boston Public Library.

Funeral services and burial were private. A Memorial Service will be held for Jonathan on Monday, February 11 at 7:00 PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Memorial donations in Jonathan’s memory may be made to the Volunteer Department at Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02715 or to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116.
