Obituary

WORCESTER-Vahe V. Mekjian, 87, of Worcester, died Monday, September, 24th in Hermitage Nursing Home. He leaves his wife, Mariam G. (Apkarian) Mekjian; 3 sons, Warren A. and his wife Karen Mekjian of Paxton, Wayne A. and his wife Sarah Mekjian of Pheonix, AZ, and Edward and his wife Yvonne Mekjian of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Lenore A. wife of Richard Burgess of Worcester; a sister, Alice Hendrickson of Shrewsbury; 7 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Edward Mekjian predeceased him.

Mr. Mekjian was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour Church where he was a deacon and was a member of its choir. He enjoyed music and loved God with all his heart. Mr. Mekjian was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a graduate of North High School where he ran track.

The funeral is Friday, September 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the funeral home the morning of the funeral.
