Obituary


Hugh Connor, 78, of Charlton, formerly of Worcester, died September 3, 2007 in The Overlook Masonic Health Center, Charlton, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born in Airdrie, Scotland, of Thomas and Margaret (Cowan) Connor and brought his family to Worcester in 1968.
He leaves his devoted wife of 54 years Elizabeth “Betty” (Burnett) Connor of Charlton, his loving daughters Mary Lowell of Shrewsbury and Margaret and her husband William Stashluk of Nashua, NH., a granddaughter, his pride and joy, Jennifer and her husband Walter “Ted” Jordan and a great-grandson, Aidan Connor Jordan all of Houston, TX., a step-granddaughter Tamara Morrow of Andover, MA and a step-grandson Jeremy Stashluk of Nashua, NH. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Robert Burnett and his wife Ann, of Worcester and his sister-in-law Fay Connor, in Scotland, several nieces and nephews, both here and in Scotland. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, James Connor and an infant sister, Margaret Connor.
He was a tool and die maker for Tupco, Inc and Elbro Tool, retiring in 1991.
He loved being outdoors working in his beautiful gardens, and fishing.
He was a life member of the New Monkland Montrose No.88 Lodge of Masons, Airdrie, Scotland, and attended Morning Star Lodge, Worcester, the Scottish Rite (Valley of Boston) and the Scottish Hirams, Worcester.
He was a long-time member of Park Congregational Church, serving as a deacon and a trustee.
At his request, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 7, 2007 at Park Congregational Church, 80 Russell Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers please make donations to APDA, Parkinson Plaza, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
