Norma Gibbs Pidgeon, 81, of Tifton died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Bill Christman will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Tift Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Pidgeon was born on December 31, 1923 in Deland, Florida and was the daughter of Elbert R. Gibbs and Mary Lou Owen Gibbs, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Pidgeon, who died on October 1, 1963; one son, Stephen Pidgeon; two brothers, Willie C. Gibbs and Aubrey Gibbs; and two sisters, Frances Munro and Betty Potts; and one grandchild, Joshua Morrow. She was a Pink Lady at Tift Regional Medical Center for many years.
Ms. Pidgeon is survived by one son, Kenneth Pidgeon of Kentucky; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara "Pidge" and Bernie Bannin of Albany; one brother, Eugene Gibbs of Brookfield; five sisters, Mary Belle Harrell of Brookfield, Reba Ontano of Cassel, California, Hilda Davis of Brookfield, Ann Roberts of Albany and Odelle Abell of Tifton; three grandchildren, Cassandra Dunston, Timmothy Bannin and Aaron Bannin; and three great grandchildren, Zacary Dunston, Georgia Dunston and Alexandra Dunston.
