Robert L. Lanagan 68, of Franklin died Tuesday July 31 , 2007 at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Priscilla C. (Denton) Lanagan.
Born in Franklin, December 15, 1938 a son of the late Earl F. Lanagan Sr. and Florence E. (Thornhill) Lanagan, he was a lifelong town resident. He was educated in local schools, and was a graduate of Norfolk Agricultural School in Walpole.
Mr. Lanagan was an automobile mechanic by trade, and later in life established his own custom line painting business.
His hobbies and interests in addition to his family included, horses, NASCAR racing and 5th wheel camping.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years are 3 sons Robert L. Lanagan Jr. of California, Mark E. Lanagan of Franklin, Alan K. Lanagan of North Carolina, 4 daughters Robin L. Driscoll of Franklin, Marianne Bournazian of Shrewsbury, Tracy L. Cofsky of Northbridge and Tammy C. Davit of Arizona, 2 brothers Earl F. Lanagan Jr. of Mendon and Kenneth Lanagan of Kingston, 2 sisters Arlene Blevins of North Carolina and Shirley Parker of Attleboro. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Sunday August 5th, 2007 at 5PM in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com). Burial will take place in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Saturday August 4th, 2007 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
