GLOUCESTER: Thomas F. Milham, 64, died unexpectedly Monday, July 9, 2007 after suffering a heart attack while sailing. He was the husband of Donna M. (Merlino) Milham.
Born in Cambridge on November 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Owens) Milham. He was a graduate of Foxboro High School and had attended Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. He had resided in Stoneham before moving to Gloucester in 1981.
Tom was a successful executive. He specialized in managing the restoration of old landmark buildings. He was Executive Vice President for an architectural coatings company for twenty-seven years. Tom was a genius with color, color functions and his most recent development was working with light reflectance coatings – he was a forerunner in his field. He was a member of the Color Marketing Group and a chair holder in that organization.
He was an avid sailor and enjoyed motorcycling, the arts, woodworking and sculpting. He loved to do art projects with his grandchildren, passing his talents on to the next generation. Tom loved people and devoted his free time helping many in countless ways. He also loved his lab “Moses” and his two cats. He always put others before himself and had a true Christian heart of love and service.
In addition to his wife of nearly twenty-seven years, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Myles and Leza Milham and their children, Victoria and Josiah of Beverly, a daughter and son-in-law, Maresol and Rick Biernacki and their children, Abigail and Joshua of Uxbridge, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Russell and Beth Milham of Newport, RI and Richard Milham of Walpole and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister, Mary Milham.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 14th in the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon St., Wakefield (Exit 41 off Rt.128) at 10:30 A.M.
