Obituary


Sebastian “Sam Cimetta of Newton Upper Falls died suddenly on Saturday May 5th at Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 75 years old. Born in Newton, Sam had lived in Newton Upper Falls since 1950. He was a US Army World War II veteran. Sam worked at the former St. Regis Paper Company in Newton for 44 years as a coater operator and printer until he retired in 1994. An avid golfer, Sam was a member of Norwood Country Club. He was also a member of the Lt. Manson H. Carter VFW Post 2498 in Needham and the Knights of Columbus Crozier Council 3973 in Newton. Sam was a devout member of Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish, assisting as an Altar Server at Mass for many years. The beloved husband of the late Teresa (Dufrense), he was the loving father of Margaret Cimetta Andersen of Randolph, Judy A Cimetta of Newton and Nancy A. Cimetta of San Diego CA. Brother of Madeline LaBlanc of West Newton, Robert Cimetta of Newton Upper Falls and the late Alice Mecurio. Dear grandfather of Teresa and William Andersen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday May 10th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church Newton Upper Falls at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham. Memorials may be made to the Lt. Manson H. Carter VFW Post 2498, 20 Junction St Needham MA 02492.
