Obituary

Alice Y. (Cote) Gosselin, age 94, a long time resident of Lowell and Ormond beach, Florida, died on Thursday, March 29th, 2007 at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford following a very brief illness. She was the widow of George O. Gosselin, who died in 1999.
She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on August 9th, 1912, daughter of the late Phillippe & Eugenie (Babineau) Cote.
She was also a communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Lowell, and was a member of the parish Ladies Sodality. She was also a 30 year communicant of the Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Gosselin was employed as an accomplished seamstress and worked for many years for the New Knit Co., formerly of Lowell.
According to the family, among her many interests include being an avid reader, a wonderful homemaker, and she enjoyed crocheting lap afghans which were donated to charities, nursing homes and animal shelters.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Roland & Claudette Gosselin of Pepperell and George & Annette Gosselin of Ormond Beach, Florida; three daughters and sons-in-law: Pauline & Maurice Paquette of Westford, Anita & Albert Masse of Dracut, and Jeannette & Joseph Masse of Dracut; a brother: Normand Cote of Santa Clara, CA; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law: Yvette Cote of Lowell and Jeanne Roy of Tyngsboro; sisters-in-law: Elma J. Cote of Goffstown, NH, Thelma Bedard of Hollis, NH, Blanche Boudreau of Edgewater, FL, Florida Brodeur of Holly Hill, FL, Emelda Gosselin of Derby Line, VT, and Marcelle Gosselin of Newport, VT; and a brother-in-law: Matthew Gosselin of Burlington, VT; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews;
She was the sister of the late Ovila Cote, Jules Cote and Albert Cote; and sister-in-law of the late Theresa Cote, Rita Cote and Louis Roy.
Visitation will take place at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on TUESDAY, April 3rd, from 9:00 until 10:00 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
