Obituary

NORTH EASTON - Peter Charles Cassiani, 69, of North Easton, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at New England Sinai Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton after a seven year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the husband of the late Renee (Reed) Cassiani.

Born May 2, 1937, in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Charles and Madeline (MacDonald) Cassiani.

He graduated from Bridgewater High School, Class of 1955.

Following high school, Mr. Cassiani attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1960.

He entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Metz, France, where he met his wife.

Mr. Cassiani was a talented pianist and enjoyed entertaining guests and family whenever he could.

A self-employed pharmacist, he worked at United Prescription Center for more than 40 years. He was a resident of North Easton for 39 years, coming from Brockton.

Always a character, he would jokingly refer to his home as his “Gentleman’s Estate” and ride his horse through the trails of the Easton Town Forest as well as Borderland State Park on a weekly basis until his condition would not permit him anymore.

A retired pharmacist, Mr. Cassiani was also the former owner of The Wine Basket in Brockton. He will always be remembered for his unending generosity and infectious sense of humor.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and loved animals and Morgan horses.

He was the father of Laura Reed Cassiani of North Easton and Marcella Reed Cassiani of Palmerston North, New Zealand; brother of Anne Lochiatto and her husband Gerald of Medford; uncle of Michelle Lochiatto and Richard Lochiatto and his wife Cheryl. Also survived by many cousins, friends and his beloved Morgan horse “Whistletop Stoker”, now 30 years of age.

His Funeral will be held from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Friday at 8:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, at 9 am. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater.
