Obituary

Worcester – Naomi (George) Veshi, 80, passed away on December 6, at Radius Healthcare Center of Worcester, formerly of West Boylston and Worcester.

Naomi was the wife of the late Soter “Cap” Veshi who died July 4, 1981. Naomi leaves a daughter Nancy and son-in-law Nick Leacu of Dudley; a son Steven and daughter-in-law Laurie of Denver, North Carolina; three grandchildren Alexis Eaton and husband Eric of Clifton Park, NY, Christine Veshi of Southbridge and Peter Leacu of Vernon, CT; and two great grandsons. She also leaves sisters Alexandra Bardho, Elaine Dionis, Cleo and Jean George, Anna Pillary and a brother Gust George all of Worcester, Sophie George of Wells, ME, and sister-in-law Louise Veshi of Webster and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Naomi was born in Bradford, PA daughter of the late Peter and Angeline (John) George and sister of the late Catherine Costa and Mary George.

Naomi worked for many years at C & T Produce, which her late husband co-founded. She retired in 2000. Naomi was a very loving devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends, cooking, gardening and living life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. She was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church of Worcester and the church’s Women’s Guild.

Naomi’s funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM In St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church 535 Salisbury St. on Saturday December 9, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 before the service in church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. on Friday December 8 with a Trisagion Service at 6PM.
