Obituary

Myrtle (Troop) Brady a longtime Needham resident died on Monday, October 16th at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield. She was 102 years old. Born in Belle Isle, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Annie M. (Foster) and Hugh A. Troop. Mrs. Brady worked as a nurse at the New England Peabody Home for Crippled Children in Newton for many years. She was co-founder along with her husband and Vice President of the Joseph Brady Company, a wholesale pet supply business in Needham. Mrs. Brady was a girl scout leader and a volunteer at the former Glover Hospital for 15 years. The beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Brady, she was the mother of Carol B. Toombs of Billerica and the late Hugh M. Brady and mother in law of Betty Brady of Dover and the late Kenneth G. Toombs. . She is also survived by her grandchildren, Maura Steeves and Kevin Brady of Needham, Anne Lowe of Knob Nocket MO, Julia Frevold of Billerica and Brian Brady of Medfield as well as by 10 great grandchildren. A Visiting hour will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Saturday, October 21 from 12:30 -1:30 PM. A private graveside service will be held at Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Myrtle’s name may be made to United Cerebral Palsy c/o UCP of MetroBoston, 71 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472
