Kathleen I. (Mulhearn) Smith, 76, of Worcester died Monday, October 26th at home. Her husband, George J. Smith died in 1982. She leaves her son, Mark Smith and his wife, Angela of Worcester; her daughter, Terra Gilbert of Worcester; her brother, James Mulhearn of Worcester; her grandson, Shaun Gilbert and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Doreen Glidewell.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur K. and Beverly J. (Sanderson) Mulhearn. Kathleen was a graduate of Burncoat High School and later attended Salter School. She dedicated 20 years of her career to St. Vincent Hospital, where she worked as a financial counselor until her retirement in 2019.
Kathleen found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed birdwatching with Brady, relaxing trips to the beach, camping adventures, and visits to Arizona. She loved playing cards and games, watching movies, and sharing stories that brought laughter and cherished memories to family gatherings.
Above all, Kathleen treasured spending quality time with her family and her beloved animals, who held a special place in her heart. She will be fondly remembered for her love of storytelling, her appreciation for life's little moments, and the wonderful memories she created with those closest to her.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
