PORTER- George V. Cravero Jr., 68, passed away on October 25, 2026. Born on January 10, 1958, George lived a life rooted in hard work, a love for building things with his hands, and deep bonds with his family and friends.
A 1976 graduate of Apponequet Regional High School in Lakeville Massachusetts, George eventually moved to Maine, where he built a long and steady career as a professional driver. He worked locally for Jordan’s Trucking and later for Mellen & Son, where he was a dedicated worker until his retirement at age 63.
While trucking was his profession, George was also a talented carpenter in his spare time, taking great pride in working with his hands. Away from work, he cherished the time spent with his longtime friends, the Sterlings, whom he considered true family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Harriet A. Cravero of Lakeville, who passed in November 2017, and George V. Cravero Sr. of Michigan, who passed in July 2000.
He is survived by his family, including his children: Dalton, Darren and Deus. He also leaves behind his brothers, Joseph and his wife Pamela of Georgia, and Gary of Maine; as well as his sister, Cheryl of Massachusetts; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
