Sally Ann (Giroux) Sanchez
Sally Ann (Giroux) Sanchez, formerly Dreckmann, passed away on October 18, 2026, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after experiencing a worsening of symptoms associated with her longstanding chronic illnesses.
Born in Manchester on July 3, 1972, she was the daughter of Edouard Giroux and Frances (Myers) Giroux.
Sally dedicated more than 20 years of her life to Little League, beginning as a safety officer and eventually serving as President of Central Little League, where she devoted much of her time to supporting inner-city youth. For Sally, it was about more than baseball and softball; it was about standing up for children who might otherwise be overlooked, supporting families, and ensuring every child had the opportunity to belong. She founded both the Challenger Division and the Senior Girls Softball Division at Central, creating opportunities for more children to participate and be included. Her dedication and leadership eventually led to her election as District Administrator for New Hampshire, representing nearly half the state, before retiring due to health issues. Sally leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion, inclusion, and countless lives touched through her commitment to the children and families she served.
Sally had a generous heart and was always thinking of others. She made sure everyone had what they needed and never hesitated to make room for one more at her table, especially during the holidays. She found joy in gardening, crocheting, and karaoke, but most of all, she cherished the traditions that brought her family together and created lasting memories.
Sally is survived by her husband, Darwin Sanchez of Scranton, Pennsylvania; her father, Edouard Giroux and his wife, Lillian; and her mother, Frances (Myers) Giroux.
She leaves behind her son, William O’Connor and his wife, Kelsie, and their son, William; her daughters, Tabitha Dreckmann and her daughters, Kianna and Kinsley; and Sarah (Dreckmann) Cameron and her husband, Kasey, and their children, Kiara, Ryder, and Hazel.
She is also survived by her sisters, Tanya Patton and her husband, David, and their children, Christina, James, Tiffany, and Aaron; and Cindy Filardo and her husband, Dani, and their children, Monte and Carson.
